MAJOR PROJECT – LOGISTICS AND PORTS – INTEGRATED PORT SYSTEM OF NAPLES PORT OF NAPLES – REORGANISATION OF ROAD AND RAIL LINKS

sqm of surface area

The design solution consists of a series of elements, main or accessory, necessary for the realisation of the link and its insertion in the area road system, for a total length of 1015m, covering an area of approximately 40,000sqm. The design solution consists of two main elements: Branch S1 and Branch S2.
The first main element is represented by the S1 connecting road axis between the existing roadway, which is the junction area of the motorway and municipal network, and the new Levante container terminal. Developing from the initial progression, the route follows in plano-altimetric continuity the downhill ramp towards Stradone Vigliena, to planimetrically flank the oil pipeline bundle, before rising in height and bypassing it at two points along the route. The route runs mainly on an embankment, with a solution between reinforced concrete swan walls, connecting directly at height to the viaduct sections.

The first viaduct, known as the ‘Viadotto Vigliena’, has a three-span steel deck design, with a variable-height double ‘T’ beam solution, equipped with lateral stringers and braces and horizontal bracings, in addition to the reinforced concrete slab. The second viaduct, called the ‘Viadotto Marina dei Gigli’, has a single span design and will be built to replace the existing viaduct in Via Marina dei Gigli. The second section of intervention called Branch S2 is located to the west, at the existing Bausan customs gate. The project solution envisages first of all the relocation and relocation of the Bausan customs gate, with the construction of a new customs structure for the control of transit traffic flows. On the whole, the creation of both the new customs gate and of additional artefacts to serve port surveillance, to control access to the port is foreseen. The roundabout, by virtue of the space available, was enlarged with two entry lanes and one exit lane, adorned with flowerbeds, as natural and spontaneous as possible, the position of the plants of which was organised during the execution of the work.
