The intervention, as already described in the ‘general report’, envisages the construction of the Flywheel body aimed at integrating the present hospital services and at significantly adapting the capacity of inpatient and outpatient facilities for the ‘Umberto I’ Hospital Centre. In this paragraph, the contents of the project intervention will be explained. The objective of the project is therefore the expansion of an area for the Hospital, therefore, with reference to the functions to be realised, the following activities will take place: Inpatient area; General services and logistics; Toilets; Waiting and distribution area; Specific outpatient clinics. The activities listed above will occupy the Volano body temporarily, during the period of the hospital’s restructuring, after which these activities will be redistributed within the hospital complex. The new building will be used for administrative purposes.
This is a building consisting of a basement, ground floor and three storeys in elevation. The vertical and horizontal load-bearing structures are of the siderocement type, the horizons consist of floors with predalles slabs and EPS lightening. The foundation consists of a slab on piles of Ф 80, acting as subsidence reducers. The materials used in the calculation are indicated below. The project also foresees and guarantees: an area to be destined for green areas g 60% of the permeable area; paved surfaces, paving of driveways and areas destined for parking or parking of vehicles have a SRI (Solar Reflectance Index) g 29; a green belt g 1m high to delimit the external area destined for parking or parking of vehicles (for shading).
